- Free Advice: In providing free legal advice, Legal Aid of North Carolina prioritizes services for those families whose incomes are below 125% of the federal poverty level. Additionally, free legal help is only available for civil cases that fall within the organization's priority areas.

- Free Advice: Applicants living in the Charlotte area whose income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level are generally eligible for free legal services. Some services, such as assistance with foreclosure prevention, have lower income requirements.
