Low-income residents of North Dakota can apply for free legal advice by calling the Central Intake hotline for Legal Services of North Dakota and the state bar association's Volunteer Lawyers Program. Those living in Grant county or the Standing Rock Reservation are also able to apply for assistance from Dakota Plains Legal Services.

  • Legal Areas: Consumer law, employment, family law, housing, domestic violence, public benefits, senior issues, taxes, and tribal law.

  • Free Advice: Free legal services are generally available to those with incomes at or below 125% of the federal poverty level who have a legal issue in the state of North Dakota. For some cases, such as those affecting seniors, there may not be an income limit.
