A resident of Massachusetts or of the Greater Boston area can receive free legal advice from a number of non-profit organizations if they meet certain income or case-related eligibility qualifications. These organizations provide services in a variety of legal areas, including family law, housing, employment, and immigration.

Civil Legal Aid for Victims of Crime

• Free Advice: Free legal assistance is available to those residents of Massachusetts who have been the victim of a crime and who are facing a civil (non-criminal) legal issue that is a result of that crime. Those who are not residents of the state may qualify if their legal problem is otherwise in Massachusetts.
